Happy Full Moon in Pisces!
The Full Harvest Moon in dreamy Pisces occurs at 6:55pm CT on Monday, September 20th. A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon are opposite each other in the cosmos, and in this case, the Pisces Full Moon and the Virgo Sun are working together to illuminate areas of our lives where we need to “harvest” and release what we no longer need to carry!
Pisces, a water sign, is compassionate, sensitive, imaginative, and dreamy. While Virgo, an earth sign, is practical, discerning, analytical, and effective. There is a sacredness and dedication to service for both signs; creative Pisces imagines what is possible and Virgo helps to build it and maintain its natural rhythm. Our creative ideas and inspiration may begin in our hearts, but it’s dedication and practical application that make it happen.
A Full Moon is an opportunity to release what no longer serves us. The brightness of the Full Moon lights up the dark recesses of our minds and souls to reveal where we may be holding on to old beliefs and habits, so we can let go and make space for new beginnings. If you set intentions on the New Moon in Virgo on September 6th, this Full Moon is showing you where you can be more discerning, practical, and self-aware to bring those intentions to fruition.
Because Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, it culminates all of the previous signs before it. In the book, Understanding Karmic Complexes by Patricia Walsh, she says, “Pisces is like the color white, which is a combination of all the colors of the visible light spectrum, yet technically is not even a color itself. Because of this composite nature, Pisces is a little bit of all that comes before it and not any of them.”
So what does all of this mean for you? There’s a boundary-less consciousness of Pisces that feels more comfortable blending and merging with others. But when working in a lower vibration, this can lead to “giving yourself away” too easily. This Full Moon in Pisces with the aid of the discerning Virgo Sun can help to identify where you need to stop giving yourself away and set boundaries so you can focus on your own personal growth and development!
Here Are 4 Unhealthy Patterns That You Should Release During The Full Moon:
Being The Martyr
A martyr is someone who feels the need to sacrifice themselves for someone else’s sake. Do you constantly put the needs of others before your own? Are you the first person at work and the last to leave? Did you give money to a family member when you are barely able to pay your bills? Being a martyr to gain appreciation, love, and respect for things you do is unhealthy and blocks you from obtaining the authentic love and connection you yearn for. Under this Full Moon, release the need to be a martyr for others, set boundaries, and allow people to appreciate you for who you ARE, not what you DO.
Being The Overzealous Mystic
A mystic is someone who transcends the Self to connect with a higher power. While there is nothing wrong with diving into your spirituality and connecting to the Divine, are you using it as a form of escapism? There is a difference between being excited about your spiritual journey and being a spiritual extremist. Giving up dairy and meat to save the Earth? Good for you. Choosing to renounce footwear and most forms of pleasure? Meh. I won’t say you shouldn’t, because everyone’s journey is their own (and who am I to judge?) but just make sure you are being mindful to not use your spiritual pursuits as a way to escape reality. We are spiritual beings having a human experience and your physical presence has purpose here.
Being The Victim
The dictionary defines a victim as someone that has been attacked, harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or some other event or action. However, the victim I am describing here is the person that always feels like the world is against them and never gets what they want. Do you often blame your lack of success on having a lack of resources or opportunity? Or downplay another person’s success and say things like, “Oh, they only got that job because of their Uncle, not because they are talented.” People that stay in this type of victimhood often give away their power and believe that nothing good can happen to them. Let me be clear; some of the things you point out may be true! Yes, that person may have gotten that job because of their Uncle and other people may have had the financial support to pursue their dreams. But none of that matters; the only thing that matters is that you tap into your infinite source of power to figure out a way to make your dreams come true! Under the Full Moon in Pisces, release your focus on what you don’t have and begin to show gratitude for what you DO have! You already have everything you need to take the next best step.
Being The Savior
A savior is someone that constantly feels driven to save others. Are you the one that everyone calls when they are having a crisis? Do you feel exhausted because you believe that there is no one else to take care of the problem if you don’t do it? Sometimes saviors can be attracted to the “hurt and broken” folks of the world because they feel they can help fix them. Oftentimes this can be a mask to cover up deep-rooted feelings of inadequacy (ouch, but it’s true!). We all need help occasionally but if you are focused on saving everyone else, who is going to take care of you? Under the Full Moon in Pisces, release the need to be a savior for others, and be your own hero.
We’ve all played one or more of these roles at some point in our lives. But it’s time to release them and continue to flourish and thrive. I look forward to seeing what you manifest in your life!
